Sky Engineer didn't turn up

Today I waited for the third day on an engineer to fix my sky TV. The first day he came, said he couldn't fix the problem but promised to return the following day to move my sky dish - He never turned up - no call, nothing. Today I wait in all day again, no sign of him. Now I'm told I won't get another appointment till the 2nd of January. Great Christmas with no TV or recording!!!

Unfortunately I'm not good with tech. I can use sky go on my tablet though but can't record any interesting programmes. Besides a 7 inch screen just doesn't have the same attraction as a full size TV.

All the on-demand functionality of Q should be there without a dish signal, although not indefinitely.

If it's a dish realignment that's needed, you might well find a local independent installer can attend much sooner than Sky personnel, although you'd need to pay them.

Get an HDMI cable out from the tablet and connect it to the TV.

you don't need to record, it's all available on demand.

The Go app specifically doesn't support HDMI-out from phone or tablet.  This is a regular source of complaints in the Sky Go forum.

It does work for computer (desktop/laptop), console and Apple TV, although the latter two require Go Extra, Multiscreen or Whole Home.

Aha thought it was only wireless casting that was blocked.

Firestick then.
