Yes, Q in the UK and RoI requires a satellite dish connection to the main Q box.
The dishless (online-only) products are Sky Glass and Sky Stream.
'Q without a dish' was actually released in a couple of mainland European countries, but never made it to the UK and was then superceded by the Comcast Corporation purchase of Sky Group in 2018.
This causes some AI search results to be incorrect.
