Sky Box is hot and gives error not connected to router

Sky box is hot onthe top. It is on a ventilated shelf with air all around. I have felt a friend's box and theirs is no where near as hot. It is also giving errors regarding being connected to the router. We have ensured it is not dusty and have restarted it numerous times. Apart from the inconvenience I am concerned that it is a fire risk.

You should be able to rest the palm of your hand down on the top of the box. If that isn't possible I'd suggest unplugging it and calling Sky who may suggest a 'doorstep box swap'.
