Signal Loss

I use Sky Q and have had it at this house for over 2 years. The Dish was already there so it was re-used. I've noticed over the last few months that all of the non-BBC radio stations are showing no signal. I've done the normal switching off and switching back on again but it is still the same. This happens whether the weather is good or bad. With the recent bad weather, a high percentage of the TV Channels also started showing loss of signal. The settings on the Sky Q box show the Signal Strength as 60 and the Quality at 50 but dipping to 40 at times. I suppose the question is do I need a new dish??

The bad weather won't help. Whenever a “no satellite signal” message is displayed firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Also check out the troubleshooting on this link

It may then give you the opportunity to arrange an engineer to check the alignment of your dish (it’s not something that will necessarily be visible to the naked eye). If you’re on a communal dish you may initially need to liaise with your landlord or building management company.
