Hello I have just read online that sky are closing down. UKTV channel W on HD and UKTV gold on HD and they will only be available in standard definition but it didn't say whether this change only applies to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks

As you can tell I didn't look there - I guess I should have
Nothing noted on the UKTV website though
I note that the UKTV channels closing in HD are those that are FTA in SD (W & Yesterday)

UKTV is wholly owned by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC. Any channel closures are their decision, not that of Sky.

On a personal note I am disappointed that U&W is closing in HD - maybe have to watch Masterchef Australia when it airs later in the year & others via the U app

UK Gold's been rubbish for years anyway.
They recently started showing all episodes of Hi De Hi (for about the 9 Millionth time), but everything else...
I mean OK yeah the BBC's "Woke" viewers don't like stuff like Fawlty Towers but they could still show the edited version of *cough* THAT episode, without the N word.

As the quoted link shows, it also applies to ROI customers.
I wonder if Catch Up content will be available in HD.

Possibly - Drama has never had an HD variant but we can now get HD downloads

It is HD versions of U&W and U&Yesterday that are closing (on satellite only) Gold is not affected, and the channels continue to be available on Sky Stream/Glass and other platforms.
Sky History 2 HD is closing tomorrow, again satellite only, it remains available on Sky Stream/glass and Virgin etc.
