Satellite signal

I have put a mini box in a garden room but am unable to get a satellite signal . I have wifi via an extender but no satellite signal. On my main sky q box it says signal at only 60 and have read up and says should be around 90/100

Is there anything I can do

Hi @Bert9992

If the WiFi extender is not a Sky Q WiFi booster then it's no good to connect a mini. Using WiFi they will not connect to 3rd party boosters

Hi @Bert9992   Your WiFi extender doesn't play any part with Sky Q. The Mini box needs to connect to the Main Sky Q Mesh, that is the Main box. Best solution is Ethernet from Main to Mini. The signal strength/quality plays no part in your issue. Note, the only value that matters is the Signal quality, you can ignore the strength.

Re: Satellite signal

Ok thank you

What do I need to get to push the satellite signal. WiFi extender is mainly for the tv itself

Thank you

Hi @Bert9992

If the garden room is in range of your WiFi then only a Sky Q booster could help connection.  As I'm sure you are aware WiFi can be unpredictable.

Note that's irrelevant to the Mini box issue, because only the main Q box contains satellite tuning circuits. Satellite signal strength is important for main box reception of transmitted content, but a Mini is dependent on WiFi signal broadcast from the main Q box or Sky booster hardware: it has no satellite feed.
