Can't move off home screen.

Hi all.

Got a replacement Sky Q box on Monday, but my wife mistakenly gave the old box to the courier with the viewing card still in.

Got a new card today, and it won't let me move off the home screen. It says that the card needs to be linked to the box via settings etc...but....I can't select any of the options. I'm using the new remote that came with the box. The batteries are fresh and working...the 'home' button is working as the screen flashes when pressed...but I have a black picture--in-picture and an Irish voice reading the channel numbers out on a continuous loop.

I've rebooted numerous times. I'm wondering if it's because I left the box plugged in whilst I waited for the  new viewing card.

Any ideas? Is there a way to reset the box without the use of the remote/

Stumped here.

Hi @JasonW1970

On your Q box remote press and hold 7 & 9 on the remote until it's led flashes four times.

This will set the remote to infrared mode which will work all boxes in line of site.

Reboot the Q box again and then see if the remote will get you off the Home Screen

Remember to point the remote at the Q box.

If you can get the Q box working then repair the remote by pressing 1 & 3 and following onscreen instructions.

@oldfella

You, Sir, are a steely-eyed missile man!

Worked first time, and all up and running. Thanks for the excellent advice.
