SKYQ v SKYHD

Does anyone else think that SKY HD is waaaay easier to use and more advanced than SKY Q? I recently switched to SKY Q after about 20 years with the old system and have had nothing but trouble with SKYQ! You can't delete programmes that are in the ' continue' tab, you have to fast forward some progress to the end so you can delete them,  if a programme has started to record you can't always watch it from the start.  The TV guide keeps going blank and I have to reboot the box. Every morning my sky mini box was off and when it came back on, I had to reset the TV control.  So I Googled this and found out that this was because the box was in 'eco' mode so kept turning off.  I set it to '  none' and that cured that problem! All in all SKYQ has some benefits but the glitches are very annoying and frustrating ! The planner and TV guide are also not as clear and user friendly.

@Northern+RockI have had Q so long that I have almost forgot HD but I still miss some of its features.

However a couple of things that may help.

I always ignore continue, I just press the Sky logo (yes it is a button) and it takes you directly to your recordings.

If you click on the recording you want and then scroll down there are many options including play, delete etc if for any reason it is it would be 1/2 way through a recording there should be a "watch from start" option.

hi @Northern+Rock

SKy Q is quite different to SKY HD & can take a bit of getting used to

Some aspects of the UI still have a few shall we say 'nuances'

For anyone coming from SKY HD they do indeed find there is less useful information on pages - Textual entries on SKY HD being replaced with more modern Thumbnails meaning less shows on a page

Regarding the Continue section - you need to be aware that it contains no recordings but is just a series of links & we find it can often be unreliable - e.g. point to episodes completed & already deleted or posint to the next episode wven though there are several minutes remaining - the regulars here generally suggest that people use the Continue section with great caution (or as many of us tend to do - ignore it & certainly not worth the effort of trying to set entries so they don't appear)

If a programme is recording you should always be able to watch from the start but it depends if the 'marker' thinks you have started it or not - if you haven't already started watching it - just seleceting the recording should start playing from the start - otherwise there is usually Watch from Start Tab below the episode/recording

Should for any reason you start watching a recording & it is part way through - just use the Voice Control "Go to Start" - Voice control is generally very useful

I like Q but I do agree that UI wise the more textual based version that HD had was often easier to use
