SKY Q states "cannot read card"

Well once again, SKY Q 2TB box is playing up. Television channels are available but nothing else - "cannot read card" etc. Same issue as before when SKY screwed up. I have switched off and on several times - zilch. Can only get TV channels no recordings etc. Nothing on SKY telephone. No human available - solely "artificial" "intelligence" algorithm recorded voice. They want to send an engineer - but I'm going on holiday so presumably recordings will not happen. Why Oh Why is SKY now so dreadful? Do I resort to Home / settings / 0,0,1 /select / reset / confirm?

cheers

Re: SKY Q states "cannot read card"

Gave up, went for engineer. Seems the 2TB is mort. So new box. We went down the Home / settings / 0,0,1 / select / reset / confirm - the box went into an update loop of step 1. We tried 3 sessions of update, then disconnected and retried. Same result - box fixed in a loop that SOSO cannot sort out - hence requires enhineer visit and likely new box. The engineer on the phone was excellent - he tried his best and was very patient. But it seems that it is not the catastophe that SKY inflicted upon users before when the box went into standby. How I hate technology - because when it goes wrong there never is a Plan 'B'. Hence recordings we have cherished are gone as there is no back up plan 'B' in the service / system. Oh for cathode ray tube lifestyle. 😣

So there was a human available?

Sounds like maybe the hard drive is done for. Did you try a factory reset? This would also wipe all the recordings anyhow.
