Returning sky Q box for new one

Question: I am waiting on a new sky Q box as mine has an error, it states I need to return equipment, is this just the broken sky Q box?

hi @Hannah192

In theory it is the box, cables & Remote, however you may just want to send the new cables etc back in the same box it arrives in rather than the old ones.

One thing, however, needs to be pointed out.

Some 2TB boxes have a separate power supply. The power supply itself uses the same mains cable as those that don't have the separate supply but the ones that need it have a multipin connector on the SKY Q box itself

If you have one of these boxes with a separate power supply then you must send that back with the box  & double check the replacement to see if it needs one & if it does,  that the separate power supply is included

It would be the box you need to return.

You  can use whatever boxes you have or can get as this link will help you to print the return label and return it via Royal Mail:

Add a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment you have included.
Make sure you get and keep proof of posting when sending this off.

@Hannah192

If Sky are sending the replacement box by DPD courier they will need to be swapped on your doorstep, so have the faulty one ready and remember to take your viewing card out of the faulty box.

@Hannah192

Then as per my post above the courier will put your faulty box in the box he/she brings the new one in and hand you a new one to self install.

Make sure you don't leave your viewing card in the faulty Q box!

Re: Returning sky Q box for new one

Im getting ours replaced tomorrow, glad i found this thread they dont tell you any of this when you order your new one.

I realise the equipment is loaned and would need to be returned but i assumed we would send it back.

The courier option is a much better one, but if they dont tell you your not gonna know.

Its a proper faf to get the old equipment out from our entertainment center the wife would have struggled tomorrow (removed)😄
