Returning a Sky Q box

I've been on the phone trying to return my Sky Q box after switching to Sky stream and not receiving a return package or even a return label

i was then told after a long discussion just to throw the box away

surly this can't be correct and if it is why can't I get confirmation that's ok

If you’ve successfully moved to Stream Sky should send out returns packaging (to the address where the account was active).  They normally leave it longer than normal in case you can't get on with stream and wish to revert back.

If the arrival of packaging is delayed, it’s damaged on arrival or doesn’t arrive it’s the customers responsibility to use their own packaging to return it. You can use any packaging as long as it’s secure and you may want to put a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment that is included. This link explains about how to receive an email with your return labels through Royal Mail.

Keep your proof of posting safe and indefinitely and if you use Royal Mail’s collect from home service, keep a record of the tracking number.

Re: Returning a Sky Q box

@AJMW1

Do you have an old Sky Q box, one of the first boxes without HDR? Sky have been telling some customers with these boxes to keep them and/or recycle them at their own discretion. These old boxes are obsolete and Sky don't bother refurbishing them any more.

If you are certain that they told you to keep and dispose of it then you can do so, but perhaps not immediately in case they've been mistaken (which is possible.)

If you'd rather Sky recycle the box, you can return it via their own freepost recycling service:
