Recording issues

I am having problems with recording cycling when it's a long race it will not recording it stops just before the end of the race. I feel I am getting zero customer support. Example I contacted an agent on the 27th March and discussed my problem she told me the problem sounds like I have an old box with insufficient storage capacity and as a result she would arrange to send me a new bigger storage sky box THIS TURNES OUT TO BE A DELIBERATE LIE !!!!! as the day it should arrive it didn't after me staying in all day waiting !! I then contacted sky again explaining the reasons for my second call this time the agent has suggested a engineer visit tomorrow, however I now have zero confidence that this is the right solution ! I would simply like SKY to explain how many channels can I record at once and how long in time will the sky box record for each channel as the cycling race sometimes is many hours long Will SKY PLEASE ADVIZE A 20 YEAR VIP CUSTOMER IS FRUSTRATED WITH YOUR VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!

We're a customer Community. You're not talking to Sky here.

Which Sky tv system do you have?

Hi @Red+wizard   Which channel was the cycling on? You should note that if it is not a Sky channel, for example BBC or TNT Sports then Sky has no control over the EPG which dictates start and finish recording times. In the case of serial offenders, like the BBC, it is always advisable to set the following programme to record as well.

Such issues are often with the metadata provided by the channel itself.

Which channel is it?

Also, with Q it's always worth recording the following programme if there's a chance of over-run.

Best point of contact may be viewer relations with these issues: viewerR@sky.uk

(But some more detail may be helpful but I don't think it's a storage issue and an engineer visit won't resolve it)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Red+wizard

That issue isn't addressable by either Q hardware replacement or a visit, and it's unfortunate that you were given such advice.  It's a very long-standing problem with the flexibility of the platform in respect to live events, and frankly not going to be resolved within the remaining limited lifespan of satellite broadcasting.
