Re: Live UHD broadcasts dark picture?
Hello, I've got exactly the same issue on my 55" Hisense TV. I couldn't believe that the UHD broadcast was so washed out, dark, lacking colour etc. Normal HD was so much better. It looks like many people are experiencing the same issue, hence why I'm here. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase: I've found a fix - for me anyway. I looked everywhere in my settings and ended up specifically looking at the hdmi settings of the TV. On my TV there are three hdmi settings. Super Enhanced 144mhz, Enhanced and Standard. To my astonishment, after selecting 'Standard' hdmi settings, the UHD picture on bbc iplayer came to life! I'm now able to watch UHD programmes as I expect them to be, in superb UHD quality, colour and sound - fantastic. I wish I'd found this out during Wimbledon this year as when trying to watch in UHD it was simply terrible. I've got Sky Q, with a 2 Terabyte main box and it's connected via eArc on a Sony HT-ZF9 onto a Hisense TV, model HIS-55U7KQTUK 55" Ultra HD 4K TV. Moral of the story, check the hdmi settings, set them to standard or remove any enhancing options and it might just work for you.

Re: Live UHD broadcasts dark picture?
@Marlon+Kirkham You posted this on the back of a thread within the Sky Glass forum, however you dont have a Glass TV so your reply in that thread is irrelevant.
The post has been moved to the Sky Q forum for anyone with the same TV.

Re: Live UHD broadcasts dark picture?
Something isn't quite right with that set up as Ultra HD with HDR requires Enhanced HDMI to work properly. By setting it to Standard you will only get the standard Ultra HD without HDR. Perhaps the TV doesn't support HDR very well so it looks better without it.

Re: Live UHD broadcasts dark picture?
Not sure I agree with you there, the standard screen a native 100/120Hz that supports all HDR signals. The enhanced options are for experiencing exceptional gaming colour detail and speed. I have the option to check exactly what type of signal is being received and displayed on the TV which I didn't check today but will do tomorrow and report back. The UHD broadcast on iplayer is mow significantly better than the Recorded/Dowloaded HD on the Sky Q box. I think the term 'standard' is misleading as for this particular TV, 'Standard' actually supports and displays any HDR 10bit signal. I forgot to mention earlier that I also switched iplayer back out of beta so the tests so far relate to 'normal' iplayer and not beta.
