I have recently been upgraded to Sky Q.
Every time I look in "Recordings" I find programmes I did not record. I have not even used the recording facility yet and doubt that I ever will.
Is there any way to deactivate recording?

I suggest you have inadvertently selected a series link recording.
Anything that is set to record will appear in the Recordings most recent - Scheduled - section
Check this on your Q box as it should be completely empty.

@NewtonUnthank another possibility for unwanted recordings is landing on a non bbc channel that has watch from the start and inadvertantly pressing the select button which will download the programme to your recordings

I didn't choose to subscribe to Sky Q, I was upgraded to it when I renewed our contract. I wasn't aware that it was possible to renew without being "upgraded" to Sky Q - the Sky agent I spoke to certainly didn't offer me any other option, unfortunately.
