Hi @Wibbly-Woo
Set it to ECO standby.

Re: Q box power consumption
Hi @Wibbly-Woo You can also hold in the power button on the Main box for 10-15 seconds, release and wait for it to turn red. Of course it will then take 5 minutes or so to turn on again ready to view.

It will also miss any recordings if you do that and any mini boxes will not work. Combined with the long start up time, it's not very practical.
The best thing to do is just set it to Eco mode and make sure the box is in standby when not in use.

Re: Q box power consumption
Hi @Wibbly-Woo
Here are some typical real figures (I watch a lot of recorded TV). Graphs produced by Tapo P110 smart plugs (need to wait for them to be approved).
November cost £1.71 , approximately 6p a day (you can see the Eco mode during the night).

My remote box is physically turned off at the wall socket every night

Re: Q box power consumption
Sky Q boxes are designed to be left on at the plug. By switching it off the box isn't going to receive any updates sent overnight.
