Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @Catlady2021 I suspect we may be able to get you working again without calling out an engineer.
We probably will need to see the new images before getting you going.
The first thing to do is to remove the lead from the black power block that you have connected to the SKY Q box F connector (the type used for the white satellite) lead. Then power off & re-apply power to your SKY Q box
Having that connected into your SKY Q box could be stopping your SKY box from working .

I have disconnected the 'power pack' from the Sky Q box and as per Godfrey note have tried to connect it to the sat 2 in the wall plate and its just sparked - even though the plug was switched off - now I'm scared lol
I'll wait till you can see the pics
Thanks all x

And there I was thinking of perhaps suggesting just that - I will leave it to @Godfrey to advise I think

That spark suggests that you did not insert the power supply 'F' connector into the wall plate SAT 2 socket correctly in line with the socket inner conductor connection, and you would have just shorted out the residual charge held in the power supply after it was switched off.
Try again, this time taking care to insert the plug without shorting the inner conductor against the outer metal coaxial cable metal screen connection.
Godfrey.

Yes it works !
So the 'power pack' went in Sat 2 and then is plugged in.
Lets hope it doesn't spark again !
Thanks again for your help Godfrey and everyone

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt won't spark as long as the plug stays securely connected 🙂
p.s. That commentary on the diagram for the multi-property installation - says the first property with Q has to have that diode left in place to inform subsequent engineers about the pattern of the installation - what if that first customer is not home when they come to visit the second, or that first customer cancels Q? Sounds odd.

The diode protected DC path combiner is placed beside the Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug-In Adaptor, not in any residents flat.
With this combiner in place either resident can power the Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug-In Adaptor.
The MDU engineer who installs Sky Q for the second resident will therefore not require access to the property of the first Sky Q resident to be installed. If their 20v 3A power supply is connected and powered then the Unitron dCSS-422 will already be powered, and the 20v 3A power supply that will be installed in the second residents flat will provide an alternative diode protected power source for the Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug-In Adaptor.
Godfrey.
