Program reminder

I have to say I am very disappointed that you cannot set a program reminder on SkyQ I don't want to have to keep clock watching if I am watching another channel whilst waiting for my program to start, so why Sky thing people prefer to just record what is the point in live TV at all then so why are we paying BBC for a TV license

Re: Program reminder

Also I would like to add, who did Sky ask this question of to get their research information as I have been a Sky customer for 22 years and nobody asked me if I use the program reminder!!!!

There's no slow motion either.

But neither are likely to come to Q now.

@Newbie+to+SkyQ

Reminders, or rather the lack of the Reminder function, have been discussed to death on the forum over the years. It won't be added at this stage in the life of Sky Q.

Hi @Newbie+to+SkyQ   Because you require a TV License to watch recorded live TV (all channels, not just BBC).

Re: Program reminder

This is not correct. You need a TV license to watch or record live TV, not to watch recordings.

Re: Program reminder

That is the same webpage that I checked before posting. It states that you need a TV license for 'recording programmes and watching foreign channels'. It does not state that you need to watch recorded programmes.

And how would you record the recordings?

Indeed, time-shifting doesn't remove the requirement for a licence...

Re: Program reminder

I wouldn't. I was correcting a comment that was about watching recordings, not making them. I said myself that you need a tv license to record.

Hi @PolynomialPal   The post that you replied to, was over two years old.

Re: Program reminder

Yes I can see that. I don't think the position on watching recorded live TV has changed since you posted. I am sorry if I am mistaken about that.

I came to this thread seeking information about the programme reminder function as my brother was asking about it last night. I'm satisfied based on what I have read that it is not available on SkyQ.

Ok so you could go to someone else's house and watch a recording they had made, and you wouldn't need a TV license yourself.

And I thought I was a pedant. 😁
