Problems fast forwarding recorded programmes

When watching a recorded programme it's good for example to be able to skip the adverts. When I select fast forward the programme progresses slowly and always goes forward but immediately goes back a few seconds. The end result is that it doesn't fast forward at all because by the time you get to the end of the advert it's taken more time than just waiting.

This issue happens on the main SkyQ box and any Mini box.

I have reset my hard drive but the problem still exists.

Re: Problems fast forwarding recorded programmes

Thanks for the advice. I think I will have to get the box replaced before it fails completely.

I will update the forum when this has been done.

Weird

what happens if you use voice control to "fast forward three minutes" for example?

It might be indicative of a failing hard drive

Re: Problems fast forwarding recorded programmes

I have tried using voice control and it works effectively. I tried three minutes but also twenty minutes and both were almost instant. Also the remote centre right moves the programme on w

quickly when in fast forward.

I'm of the same opinion which is why I tried resetting the hard drive. I am reluctant to get a replacement box if not necessary because it appears that you have to set it up yourself. Also you have to send the old box black before proving the new box works.

It's usually a door-step swap.  (So you aren't without a box)

Remember to remove your viewing card if you do this...

Setting it up is very easy but you're right, the courier isn't going to want to hang around while you boot and test it.

Re: Problems fast forwarding recorded programmes

Received my new SKY Q box yesterday, followed the instructions to install and all went well. Tested all areas where I had some problems / concerns and I am happy to report that so far it is working perfectly.
