Problem with hard disk drive

Hi, I'm not able to access recordings on my main Q box with a message that says the service is currently unavailable, and when I switch the box on I get a message that says there's a problem with the Hard Disk Drive

That's usually a sign that the hard drive is failing. Turn the box off at the wall for a minute then power it back on and see if helps. It's probably likely that you'll need a replacement box though so you'll need to ring Sky and request one. You'll lose all your recordings I'm afraid.

I've had the same one for 6 years. Maybe mine was made in Lancaster or something.

Thanks how do I contact sky to sort a new box? Is it possible to phone them?

Try following this link. It should lead to a replacement box if needed https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-hard-drive-errors 

 

If you do need a new box remember to remove the viewing card from the faulty box before it disappears into the back of the couriers van and accept any new power cable DPD deliver with the replacement box in case it's different to the one you have.

You have also posted on the Sky+ board so you need to confirm which system you have as one lot of advice will be incorrect.
