Pin access

Every time I turn on channel 109 to watch Stargate or Stargate Atlantic or flash, anything like this I'm asked to put a pin number in,I'm asked in other channels as well, in my settings I have restrictions off yet it still askes me for a pin

This is beyond a joke for what violence or sex is on these programs, is there a way to stop putting a pin in

It's an OFCOM requirement and there is no way to fully turn off PIN request

Hi @Shrimper

As @Annie+UK @has pointed out a pin will sometimes always be required.

These people probably get paid good money to sit behind a desk and keep us frustrated by making up these stupid rules,

@Shrimper

The best advice to minimise the impact we can give is to reset your pin to something like 1111 which makes it simpler to enter when required

Quite possibly at the time, but they are long retired by now: Mandatory Daytime Protection has its roots in the moral panic over the arrival of 'foreign owned' satellite television in the late 1980s, and the current underpinning legislation of the Broadcasting Code is the Communications Act (2003)

Granting Ofcom the power to permit regulated platforms to remove MDP (or to let their subscribers do so) would effectively require new primary Parliamentary legislation.
