Phone call

I've received a phone call from someone saying they are from Sky & they were going on about a maintenance contract I supposedly have with you that was £140? Last year & that this year it's been reduced to £99 .
I didn't know I'd taken out any maintenance plan so would like to know if this had anything to do with Sky or not

Probably an outfit trading as 'Sky Assured Maintenance' (or variations on that theme), which is absolutely nothing to do with Sky Group, a division of the Comcast Corporation.

Unfortunately the word 'Sky' cannot by itself be a protected trademark and so is open to potential misuse.

@Kingsleyscott

Other than Sky Protect cover which doesn't cost anywhere near that amount and is through Domestic and General Insurance there is no maintenance contract for Sky Q as the boxes are loaned to you. Most likely an attempt at a scam.,

There is a known sales technique from a 3rd party that claims you have an existing maintenance contract with them and it's reduced this year (as a attempt to get you to sign up).

Every time they call me I tell them that no maintenance contract is required as Q boxes are loaned - they always hang up...

Of course, there is a potential gap in cover for accidental damage if your house insurance doesn't.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers
