I emailed a complaint in to Sky which was picked up by the Sky Streaming support team. They were able to fix the issue by removing Paramount+ Premium from my account 'in the backend'. I have Sky Cinema, so they also did something to re-associate my Paramount account with Sky so that I get Paramount+ Basic via Sky (which is included in Sky Cinema).

 

The option to switch to Paramount+ Premium via an app subscription on my Sky Stream is available again, although I haven't done this yet.

What email address did you use. I have this issue current says paramount+ premium renewal in progress then cancelled basic with ads. I have rang them since October they have cancelled cinema twice apparently they can't do anything and been told to just pay for paramount instead.

There is a solution to this problem. (I have Sky Stream, with Sky Ulitmate TV, with Cinima, and had a Standard Paramount+ subscription in the marketplace)

I've been able to get myself up and running again this evening.

I gave up with technical support as everything they suggested didn't work.

 

Here's what I ended up doing myself:

1. I spoke to someone from the cancellations team. I told them I wished to "cancel" my Paramount+ marketplace subscription. As the subscription was stuck in  "renewal in progress" they were not able to help me straight away. They had to raise a CRF (customer resolution form) for me. This needed to be sent off to another team who would remove the subscription.

2. I keept an eye on the MySky app. After a day or so, my Paramount+ marketplace subscription was gone. No Standard, no basic, nothing. I checked on the TV also, and no marketplace subscriptions were showing up there either (there is a cancelled section and there were a few things in there, but mothing active, nothing with "renewal in progress").

3. I opened the Paramount+ app on the TV, and tried run through the setup process again....I scanned the QR code, and got the same error as before ("Your sky subscription has either expired or does not include Paramount+")

4. The following day, I tried again, only this time, I noticed that the Paraumount+ section in App Subscriptions in the MySky app now had an "activate" button. when I clicked it, my account was linked succesfully)

 

Following this, my Sky ID was linked with Paramount+ again, and I had the basic (with ads) plan.

I've not yet tried to upgrade to the Standard plan.

I'm not sure if my first attempt in step 3 didn't work because I tried it on the TV, and it only worked because I retried in the MySky app or if it worked because I retried the next day (or both).

 

I'm also not certain if these steps work by themselves or only as a result of having previously tried many things over the phone with Sky technical support over the last 3 months. When on the phone with Sky technical support they had previously removed and re-added Sky Cinema 3 times and gotten me to:

  • Turn off the Sky Stream puck countless times
  • Perform a reset of the Sky Stream puck
  • Perform an "app refresh" on the Sky Stream Puck
  • Create a new Sky ID, link it to my "primary" Sky ID, and try to link Parount+ with the new Sky ID
  • Create a new Paramount+ account and try to link to that instead
  • Change the email address on my Sky ID
  • Delete and recreate my "primary" Sky ID
  • Change my last name in my Sky ID

Sky also asked me to contact Paramount at least 5 times, insisting it was their fault. Who to their credit conducted some "profound verification" and concluded that it was definitely a Sky problem.

 

I hope this works for you. Do make sure that you insist Sky give you a refund for any months where you have been paying for Paramount+ but not getting it.
