Paramount Plus freezing on ads (error 9999)

Hi,

I have an issue with Paramount Plus freezing every time it goes to ads.

I know this has been answered before but the answer there was 'we're looking into it' several months ago, and this is a live issue this week so I am starting new.

I have looked into other answers for this and I have tried:

- refreshing the apps in the settings menu

- turning the power off to the Sky box and resetting, then going into a program and leaving it paused for a few minutes

- going back Home and reopening P+

None of this has made any difference , programmes are still hanging.

mostly when watching Deep Space Nine but when we e tried to watch other stuff it seems to have the same problem so I don't think its programme related.

really frustrating and need a solution!

As per this megathread on the issue, I'm not sure there is a solution currently, but you can use Paramount Plus on another device if you have one.

That was months ago! Frankly this isn't good enough that Sky haven't fixed this yet. Part of the reason for posting agin was to try and get an update.

I can't watch as a family on another device, that's not exactly a helpful suggestion (I know you're doing your best, it's just frustration at the situation talking)

Don't worry, I get it.

I got annoyed at Sky for the long running YouTube issue (another monster thread), turns out it was a YouTube issue. It could well be the same with Paramount Plus.

In the meantime, if you have a spare HDMI port on your TV then I suggest investing in a device built for streaming, which Sky Q wasn't really when it came out.

A Roku streaming stick is great value and gives you a flexible back up device that was built for apps. Good for the blood pressure as well, rather than putting all your eggs in one basket. 👍
