Optical fro Sky Q to Roksan Hi Fi amp

Hi, I have a Roksan Amp which has two optical inputs. When I connect my Sky Q Box to the amp using optical. I get noise and no signal from Q Box?  Any idea's ?

hi @Tintin27 

This sounds like you amp may not be able to process Dolby Digital

If this is the case set :

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual
Digital audio output optical  to Normal

It should work. I have connected my previous and current amp to SkyQ by optical cable. Make sure your digital  audio output optical is selected as normal.

Thanks, I checked my settings on Sky Q. Set to normal. Sadly still not working ? I have two optical inputs on the Amp one underneath the coaxia I use for my CD player. I thought I shouldn't use that one as it seems to be for the cd?  So I have the Sky Q box plugged into input 3 on the Amp. When I select this channel zero output. When I select input 4 I get a loud fluttering sound which goes away when I unplug the optical cable from No 3 ? I'm stumped.

Do you have a CD player connected via the coaxial input ? 

If not there should be no reason why you cannot use that optical input 

You may have to look at the manual for the Amp to determine how to ensure you are selecting the correct optical input

My Yamaha Amp does allow me to assign  different optical/coaxial inputs to different 'input' selections.

Back into Settings . Normal was back to digital! Changed it and it's working. Thank you very much!
