Hi,
looking for some help please! I have a LG surround sound system, and a projector setup. Sky Q box to projector is via a hdmi cable and then yhe sound system is connected to the sky q box via optical cable. This was working absolutely fine, however we went away for 3 days over Xmas and now no sound is playing through the sound system, only plays via the projector speaker (it used to be able to do this even when connected to the sound system). I have tried a new optical cable and checked that the sound system is still working by playing a dvd through it.
any ideas what could be causing this?

hi @Gareth000
No real thoughts on why it would stop to work.
Have you tried a full power down (i.e. unplug or switch of at mains) restart of both the SKY Q box and the LG Sound system
When you tested using a DVD was that also via the optical connection?

Hello,
yep tried the full power off etc, sadly didnt do much.
i haven't tried using something else via optical cable, I will see if I've got anything to try it with. It is a new cable though and the red light can be seen at both ends of the cable if that means anything

Really clutching at straws with this suggestion but I think worth a try, nonetheless.
Go to the Audio setting
Home - Settings - Setup - Audio Visual
Digital audio output Optical
And toggle it to whatever it is not & then exit the menus completely (maybe even put the box in standby), then repeat to toggle it back
