That's a big assumption

What have you already tried?

Re: Not connecting to internet

I'm having this issue. Switched to sky fibre a month ago from their super fast and was fine until today. Internet not connecting to sky q boxes. Tried following directions including holding WOS on sky max router when prompted but it does nothing. Any help much appreciated.

I believe you don't use the Sky router / WPS process with the Max router. You connect using the password as if it's a non-sky router.

Re: Not connecting to internet

I am having a similar issue. Woke up this morning to find the mini box wasn't connected and with a message telling me to go to the Sky Q box and follow instructions.

  • Pressed the WPS button on the router but it did not reconnect
  • Reset the router then tried the WPS bit again. Nothing.
  • Switched off mini boxes, Sky Q box and router. Restarted router. Once it was fully up and running - internet working fine - restarted the Sky Q box. Still not connecting to the Internet.

The Sky Q box and router are about a foot (30cm) apart. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

30cm? Use a cable.

Re: Not connecting to internet

I've just finally resolved my Sky Q box not connecting to WiFi or via Ethernet.

My setup is as follows:

BT Internet ISP

Draytek 2830 router (this is the DHCP server as well)

TP-Link Deco X55 AX3000 Mesh WiFi network in access point mode.

My Sky Q box would not connect to WiFi or via Ethernet.  It would obtain an IP address and momentarily say it was connected to the internet but then would show an x.  I tried a factory reset on the Sky Q box and still nothing.

Finally, after checking a load of settings on my DrayTek router I noticed  RADVD was enabled but DHCPV6 was disabled.  This was triping the Sky Q box up.

After fully disabling IPV6 everything is working correctly.

Hope this helps someone!

Interesting. I use IPv6 on my network without breaking the Q but it's entirely possible that ipv6 radvd traffic doesn't make it through my ancient wifi mesh to cause any confusion.
