I have no picture on the sky mini box but have sound. It also keep losing its connection to main sky q box. The box is getting very hot now too.

They do get surprisingly warm.

Have you tried removing the HDMI lead and re-seating? (OR another cable)

Is the TV on the correct HDMI input?

Is the loss of signal a new issue? Has anything changed in your setup?
