No option in preferences to change to SD

I am having trouble downloading shows without being asked to upgrade to HD. I am selecting SD from the 'all formats' section which usually works but doesn't seem to anymore. I read about defaulting to SD by going to 'Settings-set up-preferneces' but when I have tried this I have no option to change from HD to SD. The options I have are the following:

Standby mode

Smart standby mode

Auto download next episode

Auto play

Auto record series from catch up

Audio language

Suggested favourites

Any idea why I'm missing an option or how to download in SD?

hi @P_RY

The download preference option is only available on the Main box.

BTW  Just in case you need the location   : Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)

If it is not showing on there, may I suggest a restart of your main SKY Q box :

Use the remote to place it into standby mode
Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)
Wait at least 30s
Then re-apply the power & wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.

Re: No option in preferences to change to SD

I'm having the same issue and it's not listed at all in Preferences for On demand default download format.

I recently removed Sky HD extra package from my subscriptions but I'm unable to download on demand non Sky channels which are available. Feels like I've been locked out intentionally!

can someone advise please.
