No apps on sky Q

On my sky Q box I only have the peacock app. Software is uptodate, i've restarted the box, done app refresh and still no apps. Any advice beyond the usual?

Hi @gna5 

The App refresh can take up to 24 hrs.


Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Resetting the settings will also reset:

Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

 

If there is still nothing try refreshing the Apps again

Thanks for the reply - I have done app refresh multiple times over the last couple of weeks but nothing happens.

Have you carried out the Reset Settings before trying the App refresh again @gna5 ?

I had the same problem last week when I had SKY Q installed. I had no apps for three days. I had my box connected directly to my router via CAT 6 ethernet cable. I was on the phone with a SKY Rep and she suggested I disconnect the ethernet cable nd connect the box via WIFI. Immediately after connecting the SKY Q box via WIFI the apps appeared.

Just like you I tried everything. All three known methods but none of them worked. It would have been pointless doing a settings reset because it was a brand new box manufacturered last month that was newly installed. Theres no logical reason why the apps would show via wifi and not through Ethernet.

@steve30x - the box is connected via WIFI and not by ethernet
