No HDR

While watching football and F1 on UHD channels noticed they were not showing with HDR. No changes to my settings and have had no problems previously. No HDR options showing on any content. Also no HDR showing in Netflix app where it usually appears. I have reset my box but it hasn't fixed the issue.

Check the HDMI connection - you may need to re-engage the handshake. Turn the power off at the wall on your TV and Q box for a few minutes then power them back on. The Q box needs to detect that your TV is capable of HLG HDR in order for it to show HDR of any kind so make sure the TV is powered on before the Q box, then let it complete the HDMI handshake.

If this doesn't sort it and you're sure that HDR is enabled on the HDMI input on your TV, then try a new HDMI cable. Get a cheap certified HDMI 2.1 cable on Amazon for less than a tenner.

Is the display settings set to 10bit?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

hi @Statman1971

Please may I just double check that you did check the setting on your box - we have known them drop back to 1080 for the odd reason

Hi @Statman1971   You say no change to settings, 2060p 10 bit, but have you checked? Remember it is the TV that switches to HLG HDR, all the Sky Q box does is output the stream.

Re: No HDR

Have you tried:

  1. switching the Sky box to 1080 seeing that works, and then back to 2160 with 10bit, just to make sure that doesn't nudge it into working; and
  2. the usual switch it off at the mains and then back on again [or settings 001 and reset settings] - making sure that 2160 is selected again.

Hi @Statman1971

As far as I am aware the F1 UHD recordings I made last weekend were not HDR.

Also there are no Sky Sports that I can see showing currently on my Q box that show HDR.  Just UHD.

Looks like this may be an issue at Sky's end.

If you have Sky Cinema can you still see the UHD/HDR content there.
