No Discovery+ Premium upgrade for Ireland

I signed up for TNT sports (Sports Extra) pack last week so I could get the 'Free Discovery+ Premium Upgrade' that is supposed to come with it. No sign of my basic subscription upgrading over weekend so I contact sky this morning only to be told that the Premium upgrade is not available to ROI subscribers. Can I ask why this is the case? Agents on Discovery+ support insisted that I would get the upgrade, despite telling them numerous times that I am based in Ireland. This situation means that viewers in Ireland no longer have a way of accessing Discovery+ premium as you cannot get it via the D+ app in Ireland either.

So after having had access to the full library of cycling races for past number of years, I now have no possible way of watching it bar the very shoddy coverage on TNT sports channels.

It's really bad service and I would like to know why Sky do not offer the same deal for Irish customer as they do in UK.

In ireland we are constantly being lumped in with the UK regarding broadcasting rules and rights and yet when theres a good offer we are not included. Can someone explain please.

One very annoyed customer.

@Irish_user im guessing but wonering/thinking that as the Discovery+ premium is not available through TNT to Irish  customers it may be due to this, that Sky cannot provide it as the app is TNT's they may not have streaming rights in Ireland only a guess on my part but does seem to be TNT's fault so you may need to keep on at them

Re: No Discovery+ Premium upgrade for Ireland

Yes, good point. I have informed Discovery+ of the situation also which seems pretty crazy to just write off a large community of cycling fans in Ireland, but agree it's more than likely a D+ issue.

Re: No Discovery+ Premium upgrade for Ireland

100% agree.

signed up for TNT sports to watch the Gira (and the Tour de France) . The reception is dreadful and no discovery + premium (despite this being advertised on the website)

( if anyone knows another streaming service that shows cycling please let me know and I'll cancel TNT)

thanks
