Next firmware update

Anyone know when the next update is and what might possibly be coming out?

We not had a big one for a while on Sky Q

Nobody but Sky knows, and they don't share it until it rolls out

Re: Next firmware update

That's true. There are sky employees on here so maybe they can provide some date information?

Downloading issue needs to be one

Re: Next firmware update

There are certain people who still can't download previous on demand programs. I have a current complaint ticket which is being looked into. They have agreed that there are still people who are suffering and that the issue is still a problem

Doesn't sound like a firmware issue, or we'd all be suffering

Re: Next firmware update

Sorry maybe I didn't explain correctly. I just think this should be part of the updates

Re: Next firmware update

We won't get anything useful or exciting even their boring bug fixes don't work and produce more problems.

no reminders no playlist no profiles no autoview no fix on stacking or downloading or thumbnails

No more UHD channels or content
oh yeah they will just increase the price

Comcast are driving people towards piracy to get the quality content easier and more readily available and accessible.

If Sky/Comcast were like Apple, Amazon, Disney or Netflix they would be king of TV.

When I'm downloading a TV show episode sometimes it stops downloading and throws an error. It takes about a half dozen times of restarting the download for it to finish

Re: Next firmware update

That's part of the issue. Apparently they are still looking into it, despite them saying that they had sorted it. They have told me that this is not the case and unfortunately some people still suffering

They went backwayrds with a few things going from SKY+ HD to SKY Q. Like with SKY Q when you have something recording on a channel on SKY+ HD if you change to the channel thats being recorded you can press the rewind button and it will rewind to the start. With SKY Q you have to go into recordings to watch from the start.

In the user interface the tabs in the TV guide were above the TV guide but on sky q they thought it would be a great idea to put on the left of the screen so you less of the timeline ahead. They could at least make the tabs on the left automatically disappear when you go into the TV guide timeline showing more of the timeline.

With my 15 year old SKY+ HD box I just heard the hard drive spinning which I got used to. In the SKY Q box I got there's a tiny fan that makes a horrible high pitched sound. For the first half hour it's nice and quiet when it comes on first but then I can hear it across the room 12 foot away.

Before you ask if the box is getting enough cool air theres 9" of clear space to its side , 5" of clear space above it , theres 8" clear space behind it and I put temporary 1" feet under the corners of it to help it get fresh air.

Have you hoovered the vents? Mine is silent, that would drive me a bit mad. Maybe a dodgy bearing in the fan.
