There have been reports of Sky sending out the boxes that need an external power supply but have neglected to send out the power supply all other boxes have the same power lead.

As @bob1234 indicates, v1 and v3 main Q boxes use standard figure-eight (C7) IEC connectors, as do all Mini boxes.

 

The v2 main Q box uses an external transformer with a proprietary multipin connection.

Any ideas where I can get one of these multi pin power cables. Sky are refusing to send another box and advising waiting 3 weeks for an engineer visit

Did you have any joy? My new box was delivered today with no power cable. I can't find one anywhere
