New installation

We've moved to a new house with no sky installed

sky is being fitted tomorrow I've noticed that on  a lot of dishes the wire has been put over the roof can I ask them to place the wire around the side of the house

we are due to have a new roof soon and it also looks quite unsightly

Someone would need to be in to liaise with the engineer anyway but the engineer won't go on a roof.

@curly74

Typically throwing cabling over a roofline isn't done any more: aside from other issues it's hard to do safely.

However, dish location relates to having a view of the satellite cluster in orbit at 28.2E and so getting cable from that 'side' of a building to where the customer wants the main box to be located is a factor.

If you can work out a cable run from where the dish has to be (look at neighboring installations for that) and only attached to your property to where you want the box, the installer will appreciate it.

@curly74  surprises me they were going to throw it over the roof. He was an 'official' Sky engineer with Sky uniform and van  right ?
