New customer joining SKY with satellite dish only, is 30 day rolling contract available ?
Likely to be homeless later this year, so an 18 month contract isn't an option, and only have a satellite dish, no broadband or mobile.
Can I get a 30 day rolling contract for a basic SKY package ?

No. Sky Q only offers 18 month contracts. It would be at Sky's discretion to offer anything shorter, but it would be extremely unlikely, particularly if you tell them you are likely to be homeless later in the year.

Your best bet for some reception would be to acquire a second-hand Freesat receiver.

😞
How about SKY+ on 30 days rolling ?
Got an old SKY+ box here someplace, but I don't know if its HD or not. ( Since I hear a lot of the SD channels are going to be turned off this month ! ) Pace TDS470N model. ( Oh I see google says its SD only.. )
So I'd have to get a SKY+ HD box then if they do 30 days rolling, if so, any recommendations ?
Ideally something as snappy as the Pace model, rather than treacle like with all the others I've tried when changing channels/etc.

Already have one of those !
Mum wanted SKY again now that she can afford it.

@Nanos Sky no longer offer any Sky+ subscriptions.
The only service with a 30 day rolling contract are the streaming services of Sky stream and NowTV(Sky owned company but under a different name).
There is no way to get a rolling contract from Sky via a dish without an initial 18 month term.

Historically no Sky satellite product has had short contract periods because the installation cost (including the maintainance of a nationwide fleet of specialist installers) is so high.

What does she want from a Sky service?

I can understand that.
Aren't they retiring the statellites in about 2 years time ?
Would make good business sense to me if they signed up folk on a monthly contract if they already have a dish installed and their own satellte receiver, then its money for old rope as they say !

Programmes that are only available via SKY, in particular ones with subtitles as she is partily deaf.
I don't suppose being a former SKY customer of 20+ years would make any difference to getting a shorter than 18 month contract ?
Maybe even 3 months minnumn with the ability to cancel with a months notice ?
Also, does SKY require a signed FAX these days to cancel ?

Sky no longer offer any Sky+ subscriptions.

Do you mean any new ones ?
I assume those who was already on Sky+ are continuing their service ?

Might be worth looking at NowTV to see if those channels are on there

Not fast enough broadband options here. ( Mobile phone download speed is 0.015 Mbps. even voice service is troublesome and sometimes requires you to go and stand at the bottom of the garden in a howling gale ! )
The satellite dish is nestled into a rock garden to protect it from the wind.
Not even full TV aerial channel range either, our only available in view is a public service broadcasting (PSB) transmitter, not a Full Service Freeview Transmitter. ( Which goes up and down like a yoyo like it is, sometimes requiring us to point out to folk who who fix them, that it needs fixing, but since they don't work on the weekend, its always Monday till it is ! )
It is perhaps of interest how the internet services that tell you service X is working, are so often inaccurate when you live far away from civilisation !
From the answers to date, it seems the best option is to ask SKY nicely and see if they say yes.
Thanks all for the various answers.

Well yeah, they are designed to tell you whether the problem is with the actual service or somewhere else (like a poor internet connection)
