That does make a difference @GermonLennon

The channel synopsis will indicate if the channel is HD (when you press select or info)
You say you have selected Sky Q 1080 resolution.
Is this 1080i or 1080p?

Sorry yes 1080i. I have a regular Sky sports subscription - so not UHD or 4K. The resolution is like a 720 or 420 youtube video.
Any ideas?!

1080i is the best choice.
You need to check the channel synopsis to make sure that you are watching an HD channel.
Sky Sports is available in HD without additional subscription. However SD Sports channels are listed in the TV Guide.
For Sky Signature channels in HD you need the additional Monthly HD subscription (apart from Free to Air BBC, ITV etc)

The channel synopsis does not mention HD? But I'm pretty sure its standard. As the quality on the Sky channels seems notably worse. Maybe I am wrong.

...since changing TV I mean.

All HD channels will show as HD in the lower info bar or tile Synopsis.
The absence of the HD indication means that it is SD.
SD channels have no indication as such. (Ie they do not say SD)

Ok.... so is this an error? As I am pretty sure Skysports is HD as standard? Thanks for your time by the way.

Sky Sports is as I said included on Q as standard without additional subscription.
But as I also said SD Sports channels are also listed in the TV guide.
Normally HD Sports channels are listed as Ch 401 -495 and SD channels are all in the 800's.
Again the Synopsis will always say HD for HD channels
However there can be glitches

@oldfella, I am back! So I checked my package and I have a package that inculdes Skysports in HD I have attached screenshots of the package details - and it definitely isn't in HD? As mentioned before every other channel coming through the SkyQ box that isn't a SKY channel is coming through in HD resolution?
