Netflix boost to netflix basic

I have the sky ultimate TV package and netflix boost to basic add on. But can only watch netflix on one device at a time and the screen limit appears if I try to watch netflix via another device when it's being used on the sky q box.

Shouldn't my package allow 2 devices at the same time? If so, how do I sort this?

Hi @Extremesoul81

The other device has to be on the same Network.

Re: Netflix boost to netflix basic

Thanks for the reply- the mobile device shares the same network as the sky q box.

I can be watching on a mobile connection on my phone and that will block people at home from watching netflix on sky q... its as if the screen limit is for one device at a time rather than 2... is that right???

Hi @Extremesoul81

Assume you are not at home with the mobile on your network when using Netflix if you are using mobile data.

Re: Netflix boost to netflix basic

Hi! @oldfella -Can be both, no matter what Internet connection or combination of it only allows 1 device at the same time

can be at home on sky wifi with netflix on the mobile and see the screen limit on the sky q box or vice versa...

Same result if I'm on 4g Internet watching netflix on the phone etc...

If its being watched on 1 device regardlessof sky q/mobile etc, it's blocked on any other...

Any ideas? Or is that just how it is???

Thanks again for the reply!

Re: Netflix boost to netflix basic

Just to add when looking in the netflix app it says my plan is 'basic HD'. Should it show as that if I have the sky netflix boost to basic upgrade? I don't have ads playing on my plan if that counts...

hi @Extremesoul81  the Netflix plan you are on is based the original Netflix plan through SKy which I believe does only allow one screen.

Under that plan you needed the SKY HD add on to get access to 2 Screens but no longer does once switched to the 'Boost' plans (i.e. SKY add ons no longer affect the Netflis level)

If you contact SKY you can get the following which came into use from Mid December 2023 :

Netflix  (Base level) is the With Ads service  - 2 Screens in HD (list cost £4)
Boost to Netflix Standard - 2 Screens in HD Ad free  (list price an additional £6  thus £10 in total for Netflix)
Boost to Netflix Premium - 4 Screens  up to UHD/HDR  (list price an additional £11 thus £15 in total for Netflix)

Although you may not wish to drop to the (now cheaper) With Ads service rather than pay more for the AD Free Standard

BTW The Netflix Boost to basic is the new structure that allows an Ad free service but still only 1 screen & is really only available as a transition to allow customers to continue with the service they had

P.S. When you pay via SKY, you still cannot, currently, add the 'extra member' add on for use by family members not in your physical household that is available for those paying directly to Netflix
