Still have the same issue as I am sure many others are. The movies and sports are all showing the incorrect content. The sky re-insert card is still showing. Worst of all apperenetly there is nothing wrong according to their system down.

Hi @Tjs64   If this is about the viewing card issue, don't do anything. You simply need to wait it out, as you or Sky advisors can't help you. Just wait for it to be fixed by the Sky back room people.

With Sky being such a big company you would expect firstly to treat their loyal customer's better than that..keep them informed and respect the fact that we all pay heavily each month for their service..which we are clearly not getting..however still paying for.

This started me me last evening

Are they not able to give is any idea as to how long this issue will take to resolve..

Rather than wait it out ?

@Tjs64

They won't commit to a timeframe. They don't do that on any issues in case it takes longer than they've announced.

Re: My viewing card keep's dropping in and out.Would like an online chat if possible ?

thef act people also report random programs not scheduled, channels not as they should be,

Could this be something a little more sinister, than a simple config error

Re: My viewing card keep's dropping in and out.Would like an online chat if possible ?

There were (are) two issues here.

Firstly, there seems to have been a technical problem. It probably took some time to work out what the problem was and then work out how to fix it. I can understand Sky management not being able to predict how long things might take and not want to set expectations for a fix under those circumstances. Entirely reasonable and expected whenever there is an issue of this kind.

Secondly, there is a communication breakdown. There seems to be no reason not to inform customers that there is an issue and it's being worked on. Because there was no customer communication from Sky recognising there was an issue, they began receiving more and more enquiries from understandably concerned customers. Their response seems to have been to close down their switchboard and other methods of contacting them whilst maintaining on their service status pages that everything was working well was not just ill-advised it was positively cowardly and unhelpful.

Any service provider can have problems with the service they provide. It is unreasonable to expect a 100% service level from any service. The measure of a good service provider is how they manage their customers and provide information when their servce is impacted. Sky do not measure up at all well at the moment. Will they see it as a learning experience (though I'm surprised they need the lesson)? We shall see.

Like most large companies they don't tend to blast out messages during issues (up to 7.5 Million mails/texts to send aren't easy), there's a service page to look on: https://www.sky.com/help/servicestatus

Mesage says:

Outage description

Reported: 05 Oct 2025 11:50 AM

We are aware that some Sky Q and Sky HD customers are may be seeing a blue screen or an on screen message indicating that there is a technical fault with the channel or Viewing Card. To work around this try selecting another channel and then returning to the channel you wish to view. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Re: My viewing card keep's dropping in and out.Would like an online chat if possible ?

Indeed.

But a pity this wasn't there when the problem was at its peak this morning.

I wasn't expecting an email just a recognition on the service status page.

Mind you, they can send a whole bunch of emails when they want to sell me something.

On a side note, you can only see this message if you don't sign in (as the page requests) and look at your equipment - there is no mention of a problem then. A better approach would to have the "general" service status page be the landing page with a branch off for sign in to see your own products.

Agreed - it probably took some time to recognise the scale of the issue and pull some words together.

Interesting - I naturally didn't select the sign in option.   When signing in mine says 'all fine' but then again, it has been.  (We obviously don't know the scale of this issue)
