Hi @Toppo

First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the mini as above.
If the mini still does not connect reliably try a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

During the last week my screen keeps freezing and sometimes I can't even turn on using my remote control

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

I am having the exact same problem. The only way to get it working again is to switch the box off and on everytime. Happening across all three of the SkyQ mini boxes we have

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

I've two mini boxes connected via poweline adapters and for the past 5 months or so everything have been perfect but over the past week one of the boxes (upstairs) has been constantly freezing. I've reset this box, all poweline adapters and reboot the router (broadband is also with sky), I've also re+authorised the mini box that's causing the problem but it still freeze to the extent that it's unwatchable. This was a common occurrence until I got the powerline adapters (which is why I got them). The quality of the equipment is just rubbish and not being able to change the router to a more powerful mesh system is a big problem (I have VoIP for calls so have to use the Sky router). Sky support is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard).

If anyone has any suggestions beyond what I've already done let me know.

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

This is exactly the  same for us. Both boxes connected to Powerzone adaptors and wired via Ethernet cable are doing this after being fine for months and months. The only way I can get them to work is switch them off and re-sync them every single time...... no help at all from Sky

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

Are you experiencing this every day or are you getting some time out of it after each reset of the adapters?

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

It works when reset then as soon as it idles/is left in standbye it locks up again and have to go through the whole process again. This can be less than a few hours apart.

Sounds familiar alright.

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

What I've noticed it the issue is really bad when the main sky Q box is downloading something on catch-up whilst someone is also watching something that has been recorded on the other mini box. I think it's a bandwidth problem with 3 boxes trying to use limited connectivity speed through the powerline adapters (only getting about 30mbps from a 500mbps connection). I'm thinking that as the main sky Q box is close to the WiFi router, is it possible to just connect that box via WiFi with the mini boxes being connected via the powerline adapters or do all have to be WiFi/ethernet?

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with our Sky Mini box. It's a nightmare because the power cable is routed to a socket which isn't that easily accessible. I've had it happen while watching something, the box just freezes up and I have to unplug it/replug it in and I've even had it happen in stand by where I'll come back to turn it on and the remote/power button on the front is entirely unresponsive so I have to unplug/replug it in.

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

Can't seem to edit my previous post, but incase anyone else has this issue of the mini box hard freezing, it does seem like it's a bug relating to losing internet connection. I ended up setting back up some old powerline adapters I had around to connect the mini box to the router (the main box is hardwired to the router via ethernet already) and I don't seem to have experienced the lock up again. Really bizarre that a internet disconnection would cause such a hard freeze that it requires a power cycle but here we are.

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

Are there any Sky boffins looking g into this?

One of our boxes just started doing this the other day. We've moved it to a different TV, but nothing. I can reset it but it won't move off the Sky main screen - the remote does not work at all, so cannot get it off of thst screen.

Re: My mini box keeps freezing

I'm having exactly the same issues and it's occurred since I went back to sky broadband. Previously with EE without a problem. This has been ongoing for the past 3 months and no one at sky can give me a straight answer. I'm sick to death of having to turn the power off and on constantly. Simply put sky broadband is crap (I'm even on fibre 500). They have another 4 weeks to sort this or I'm going to fully cancel my whole subscriptions and I'm sick of spending ages onto customer services and swapping out equipment.
