The problem was resolved by deleting a bunch of recorded programmes, once the disk usage reaches a critical point the q box keeps dropping the WiFi cnxn, the issue has not recurred

I have a shiny 50p that says that is coincidence and the wifi is just doing its usual random thing. Can't see any logical reason why disk usage would be a factor and I've had problems, many problems, at less than 25% disk usage.

100% agree with you. I only have 23% storage and if the box cannot cope with that much then it most definitely is not fit for purpose. Anyway roll on April when I can throw it all in the bin.

Re: My Sky Q box keeps disconnecting from my WiFi. It can happen half way through a film or at start
I have the same problem.
I have a sky q box and sky hub (the white one). Over the past 3 weeks I have had constant drop outs. It is difficult to reset the connection as the WPS button does not achieve connection. I can get a connection by using the option intended for a non sky router and manually enter the password. Restarting the sky q box works after a few attempts , but the drop outs continue. Drop outs can occur whilst watching tv but more often on start up. The router is only 2 yards from the q box and hs worked without issue for 18 months.
All my other devices connected to the router are fine so I think it is a sky q problem.
Any advice on how to proceed?

Re: My Sky Q box keeps disconnecting from my WiFi. It can happen half way through a film or at start
I've joined the club.
Q boxes (one downstairs and one upstairs) keep disconnecting from WiFi which is downstairs provided by a Sky WiFi extender wired by ethernet cable into a Virgin hub. Upstairs in the house WiFi is provided by hardwired extenders connected by ethernet into the hub.. Main Sky box absolutely fine as are all other devices in the house.
Being electrically incompetent and an OAP I deduce that the problem is with the Q boxes not liking Virgin?
