I need to find how to make sure the series is recorded in SD and not switch to HD half way through the recordings

You should post an example which may help.
BBC channels often switch to a different channel; for recordings mid-season.
I'll set a series link on BBC1 South - and although the recordings still happen they may now be on (say) BBC1 Scotland.
It is down to bad metadata from the broadcaster themselves.

SkyQ Silver bundle (V2 2TB with UHD/HDR + two minis) in Sky region #71 (Oxford) using VirginMedia Gig1 Fibre (1.2Gbps/100Mbps).

HD is on a different channel so not sure how that can happen with a series link?

I record a series and have it on series link. Say there are 6 in a series , it will record 3 in SD then record the remaining 3 in HD. I then cannot view the last 3 as I do not have HD. How can that happen or is there a fault with the box

Ok that's bizarre. Does it show which channel the last 3 were recorded on and is it different?

Oh wow. Never noticed that. I guess that's ok as long as they don't switch to HD!

Happens a lot here with BBC1 - sometimes switches to Wales.
It could be a timing issue within the box where it gets the metadata for an alternate showing first.

It's usually U&Drama or Alibi.

That definitely shouldn't be happening but suspect it's almost certainly an error within the program metadata rather than an issue with your box or anything you're doing.
I would send an email to Viewer Relations viewerR@sky.com giving as much detail as possible (include specific program examples) and they will look into it.
In the meantime you should be able to download the SD version to watch.

Even if you explicitly go into "More Formats" and select SD?

hi @Flish1
for downloads
have you changed your download preference to SD ?
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences
(Please note this setting can only be set on the Main box)
