Multi room wont work without broadband

We are in the process of getting new broadband which doesn't go live till Tuesday, therefore we currently have none. Our main sky tv box works but the 2 multi room boxes won't, why?

I get that all the functions need wifi but to get the basic channels etc, surely this should just work?

do you have a router switched on ?

The minis & Main cox need a router switched on to allocate IP addresses - it shouldn't need to be connected to the internet though (after initial authorisation)

What do you mean after initial authorisation?

Our box has arrived and is plugged in but there is no internet?

hi @Chels13

AFAIK for minis  to be authorised for use on your system they must have access to internet  - once that is complete  (i.e. done once) I don;t think there is a need for further access to internet for watching recordings or live Satellite (although of course they would for apps etc. )

To work on your network, however, all the boxes must have IP addresses which are allocated by a dhcp server which is usually part of a router
