Multi room connectivity - too many boxes

Hi, I have 3 mini boxes connected to Sky Q but I cannot use them all at the same time. 2 is maximum but when I turn the 3rd one on in another room it says that I have too many connected. When I switch another one off then that box connects, so it seems the most you can have connected at one time is 2. I thought the purpose of having multi room was for the family to watch sky in different rooms at the same time. 3 boxes all ordered via Sky, 3 on my account. Thanks for any suggestions!

No suggestions as that's the hardware limit.  The 3rd mini should be able to be used for streaming rather than tuner services.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

hi @RM641

Although not easy to spot it is covered in the small print

As you have noted and as per @PandJ2020 you can use a maximum of 2 minis at the same time for SKY content - Satellite/Recordings-  although you can have up to 4 on the account which allow for using in other rooms when others are off

Aslo as @PandJ2020  mentions you may be able to use more at the same time if the first ones in use are only being used for Streaming apps such as Netflix or Disney+

We do wish it was made clearer regarding the limitations to customers before ordering

Hi, many thanks for your quick replies, much appreciated. At least I now know what the issue is and will work around it. Thought maybe my set up was wrong but guess not!
