This isn't a moan or complaint. I'm just curious.
I just arranged a home move installation via the my sky app. All has gone smoothly enough. I'm basically keeping the same TV and broadband package but paying a little more as I seem to have lost my existing discount on my broadband.
Apart from receiving emails regarding the installation dates and billing, I've also received a third email informing I'm receiving a new 'box'.
'Your replacement box is on its way and will be with you within the next couple of working days. Our courier will be in touch to confirm the date and time of your delivery.'
I'm assuming it's a Sky Q main box. There nothing wrong with the existing one, it's not particularly old, maybe 2 years and is fully UHD HDR compatible. I haven't added any minis, I already have 3.
As I say, not really a problem. Always nice to get something new after all.
Just curious. Any thoughts?

Seems to happen sometimes now with Home Moves. Bare in mind that it will be a doorstep swap, so DPD will want your old box to take away. Remember to take your viewing card out. And, of course, you'll lose any recordings you have.

@Tuckbox
You're probably better off refusing the 'new' box, particularly if you're happy with how your current box functions. Replacement boxes aren't necessarily new and can often be refurbs or earlier non-HDR versions,
