Mini box fault?

I get this error on my mini box. Because I'm almost bedridden I only watch Sky from my mini box. Lately I've been getting this error message on most but not all channels. Rebooting the Sky Q box works but not for long. I've downloaded the system software, didn't help. I also did a reset on the mini box, fault still continues. I now only watch Sky on my iPad via the app.
My question is, if I do a full factory reset from the mini box will that effect the Q box too? I have so many recording that I don't want to lose.

You haven't said what the error is?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

hi @R+Murdoch

When you say rebooting the Q box do you mean the main box (the main & minis are both Q) ?

A reset on a mini is unlikely to change anything - the minis get all the content via the main box so it i smost likely the main box supplying the mini that is causing the problem

If you have rebooted the main box & it doesn't improve things, then it is worth trying a reset of it.

if you choose the 1st reset, you won't affect recordings

As you may have discovered to reset :
press Home
Scroll to Settings - but do not press enter/select at this point
Press 0 0 1 in sequence followed by the Enter/ select button
you should now get the engineer's menu

As mentioned Select Reset And Select the first Reset - Do Not select the 2nd & 3rd as those will loose any recordings you do have

Once you have reset your box you will need to re-pair your remote
To re-pair the remote press & hold 1 & 3 together & follow the on screen instructions - make sure it has line of sight of the box

You will, also, have to re-set up any favourites (these are set on each box so you may not be bothered on the main box, if you mainly only use the minis)

Re: Mini box fault?

Thanks for that. I'll give that a go and report back if it doesn't work.

Re: Mini box fault?

After doing a reset on my Q box, everything seems to have settled down and all is working fine. That was until last night when my village had a blackout! Had a bit of trouble getting my mini box back on the network but once again all is working well.

Thanks for your help.
