Mini Box in bedroom won't work

I have a mini box in my bedroom and main box is downstairs.

When I turn on my minibox it says not connected to main box and not connected to network.

I have connected to the main box, a picture comes on, but 10 seconds later it goes off and says not connected to your network.

I follow the instructions, check network on laptop, computer, main box and mobiles, all working.

Having followed what it tells me to do via network instructions, it still won't connect to the minibox.

I do have a Sky Q WiFi Booster which is turned on, downstairs in the kitchen where the enginer put it when Sky Q was fitted over 4 years ago

Having checked the Sky Q WiFi Booster, there should be 3 green lights on, yet there is only 2 on and the one not one is the Network...

Have switched this on and off about 4 times, unpluged at the mains and still the same, only 2 lights working...

Is it the mini box or the Booster that is the problem??.. Been like this for 4 days now and had enough..

Have just booked an enginer to come and fix this on Friday...

Hi @tinyred

If it's a Sky Q booster being used to connect to your Sky Router then proceed as follows:-

  1. Hold the WPS button on your booster for 3 seconds until it flashes amber. Then hold the WPS button on the front of your hub for 3 seconds until it flashes amber - You'll need to do it within 2 minutes.
  2. After a few minutes, the connected light will turn green. You're all set up.

If it is being used between your main Q box and any minis then you need to press the WPS button on the Main Q box and not the router (in the steps above)

If you are on 3rd party broadband then you cannot connect  to the Router by WiFi and therefore need to use the Booster to connect between main Q box and mini.
