Mini Box Software update

Been having the onscreen message about needing an update all week. I've followed all the instructions I can find about forcing the update through and yesterday even had the box come up with the update was successful and a list of all the "improvements". However, this morning it's back to asking for a software update. Does anyone have any real fixes please?

@Mrs+Templar

Typically that's a message being generated by a smart television operating system, and needs to be actioned using the television set remote control.

Q updates don't list 'improvements' and happen without user intervention: Sky is remarkably secretive about such things

Definately a message from Sky, told us how we can go from one app to another using voice commands. Had the same message on the main Q box before. It appeared in the Sky Menu

Re: Mini Box Software update

Are you able to post a picture of the message? Sky boxes update themselves and don't require the user to manually accept an update, plus there are no updates being rolled out at the moment, the latest was around September/October last year.

@Mrs+Templar  They also almost never tell you what a software update is "improving"

I am just another Sky customer!

Definitely had a message over 3 pages in the menu space after the software apparently updated yesterday, telling us a few various new features available now with the latest software. Obviously can't show you that particular gem as I can't get past this bloomin screen again...

That's weird. That web page doesn't exist. Does it do that every time you power the box off and on?

Re: Mini Box Software update

Well, 95% of the time. I have had it working and can watch TV, but when I turn it off, I have to pull the plug out in the hope it will work normally. More often than not, it comes back to this screen. Yesterday evening it started flashing on and off with a very brief look at the menu page.

Hi @Mrs+Templar   Is this a new loan Sky Q Mini box from Sky or has it always worked in the past? Almost 10 years using Sky Q Mini boxes, never seen that message.

This box is 4 years old and never given any problems.

When it does work, can you check the current software version?

Re: Mini Box Software update

Yes it has the same software as the main q box. I've also checked this against someone else's box, which has the same.Q330.000.09.00L (63yh6dg)

I would use the sky online troubleshooter to get the box replaced.

Re: Mini Box Software update

I've had an update for my main sky q box today, same screen as this, yet when I check the software it's exactly the same as before?
