Media wall

Hi, I've recently fitted a media wall and my main sky Q box is fitted on the wall behind my TV. The box is now in a constant standby state and won't switch on, I've tried everything that's been suggested and nothing has worked. Help!

Hi @Gowansey

Looks like your remote may not be paired to the box in Bluetooth mode.

However to completely re pair it,  it will need direct line of sight to the Q box infrared sensor

@Gowansey

As you've unfortunately discovered, it's not really ideal to make such devices permanently inaccessible.

Per the comment by @oldfella, perhaps one thing to consider for the future is building in an IR extender.

As loaned hardware the Q box really needs to be removable anyway, as that's required for both replacement in the event of a fault and eventual return when the platform reaches end-of-life.

Re: Media wall

Thanks for the reply. The remote solution didn't work but my box simply will not boot up, constant loop of standby and the same message  over and over again

Hi @Gowansey

Work through the following link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-box-wont-turn-on
If you have to order a new Q box this usually means a doorstep swap.
Don’t forget to keep your viewing card from the failed box if you order a replacement.
Also if the box you are replacing is a 2TB there are two versions of power supply. One has a standard C7 (figure of eight) power lead socket in the back of the Q box. The other has a separate power supply. Although this still has the C7 power lead into the power supply there is a multi pin Din power socket in the Q box for connecting the power supply. Make sure that the replacement box has the power supply included if the Q box has the orange coded multi pin din socket in the back of the Q box. See below.
