MR104 on Sky Q Mini Box
Hi All
We have had Sky Q 2TB and one Mini box for a few years now, the connection from the mini box to the main has never been great via WiFi, even with a Sky booster live picture often dropped out on the mini.
The 2TB box has also never been great keeping its WiFi connection, (uniquely, no other non sky devices have any issue) so we changed that to ethernet a while ago and its been fine ever since.
A few days ago i decided to just turn off the WiFi bands on the main and mini box and use ethernet throughout - that worked like a charm for two days until the mini froze up and needed to be power cycled and since then its been unable to reconnect to the main box with error code MR104.
Tried resetting network and rebooting boxes but cannot get the mini to connect to the main now, any ideas on fixing this? I could put it all back on wifi but that just gets me back to the less than reliable state i fixed by moving it all to ethernet. So annoying as it worked perfectly for those few days on the ethernet!
Its worth pointing out that the mini box connection to the network itself reports as connected without issue and its IP address is reachable for a status readout via 9006/as/system/information

Re: MR104 on Sky Q Mini Box
Hi @MatthewF40
When all boxes are connected by Ethernet you can then switch off all Q box WiFi.
Start with main Q box and first carry out a Network reset with the Ethernet connected.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Select connect wired to non Sky Router (or Sky router if on Sky Broadband). Do not carry out any WPS and just wait for the box to connect. It may take a couple of minutes. If it does not connect there is an issue with the Ethernet connection.
As soon as it connects go into the Q box hidden menu and turn off WiFi.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Go to Network to turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.
Repeat the network reset on any minis in the Mini Home menu with the Ethernet connected. Again do not do any WPS and just wait for it to connect.
Once it is connected go into the mini hidden menu (same procedure as above) and turn off both bands of WiFi. Confirm before exit.

Hi @MatthewF40 Try rebooting your router by removing the power cable for 30 sec then reconnect to reboot, then reboot your main SKYQ box by turning the power off at the socket for 30 sec then turn back on, then do the same with any Mini boxes?
I used to have superpowers… But a therapist took them away.

Re: MR104 on Sky Q Mini Box
Sorted it, really strange one. We use a Netgear WAC124 access point in bridge mode to provide the ethernet connection to the main 2TB Sky Q box, as mentioned this works perfectly for providing Internet Access on that box.
When i switched off the WiFi the other day on both boxes and moved the Mini box to ethernet this also worked fine until the mini box froze up and needed a reboot, its at that point the problem occurs giving error MR104. Today as process of elimination i ran a long ethernet cable from the main box to the router and after that the Mini found the main box and worked fine on the ethernet connection, i was even able to move the main box back to the Netgear WAC124 and the mini carried on working fine.
So the problem is something is being blocked by the WAC124 that only happens during the initial handshake from the mini box to the main. There is no firewall capability being used on the WAC124 so difficult to troubleshoot further but at least i know what device is causing the issue!
