Losing connectivity again

After over a year of relatively stable operation, connectivity issues have now plagued us again this week. The Sky Q Mini box loses its connection every other day. Solution is to power off and reboot. Sky Go on iPad and iPhone fails to connect to the main box randomly, solution is to reboot the device.

My wi-fi network is working fine, as is the Sky booster.

Anything happened lately to destabilise the set up?

Hi @Alan1952

Who is your Broadband supplier?  If it is Sky,  do you have the White Max router?

Also where is the Sky Booster located in relation to main box mini and router?

Re: Losing connectivity again

The router is BT and upstairs. The Sky main box is at the back of the house downstairs, the mini box is at the front of the house downstairs. The booster is half way between the Sky boxes.

OK @Alan1952

All looks OK.

Assume it is a Sky Q WiFi booster you have.

Maybe worth resetting the booster to the main Q box and then resetting the mini Connection to the booster.

  1. Hold the WPS button on your booster for 3 seconds until it flashes amber. Then hold the WPS button on the front of your main Q box for 3 seconds until it flashes amber - You'll need to do it within 2 minutes.
  2. After a few minutes, the connected light on the booster should  turn green. You're all set up.

Tip: Need to move your booster after you've connected, don't worry it will automatically reconnect when its moved as long as its within range of your main Q box.

Then carry out a Network Reset on the mini.

Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with Q device,
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the Q booster box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

Re: Losing connectivity again

Thanks, I assume this process was to reconnect the Main box to the Boster and then the Booster to the Mini box.

I have carried out the recommended actions. At the end I had an error message on the Mini box saying I did not have an internet connection and to check this in Connection Settings. I did just that and was told the internet connection was fine. So I am not sure what that was all about.

I will monitor the devices and let you know if I have further problems.
